Peanut Butter Chocolate Drizzle Popcorn

November 18, 2021 by Cale Flint Leave a Comment

Peanut Butter Chocolate Drizzle Popcorn is delicious. Chocolate, peanut butter, and popcorn are amazing ingredients for a dessert.

This style of popcorn is called "drizzle" because it has chocolate drizzled on top. Chocolate melts are used to make this type of popcorn.

The melted chocolate covers the popcorn in a thin layer of deliciousness. Peanut Butter Chocolate drizzle gives the popcorn a unique taste. Chocolate can be bought in grocery stores or online.

There are many ways to make this style of movie theater-style popcorn at home, but this is one of the simplest ways. This type of popcorn has great texture, and everyone will enjoy it.

I use microwaveable bags because they are easy to use, and I can just put them in the microwave. However, this style of popcorn can also be made on the stovetop. Chocolate melts are used because they are cheap, but other types of chocolate would work as well.

  • 1 bag microwaveable popcorn (or any type of popcorn you prefer)
  • ½ cup peanut butter chips
  • ½ cup chocolate melts

First, make the popcorn according to the instructions on its packaging.

While it is cooking, melt the peanut butter chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Chocolate melts can be microwaved for 30 seconds at a time and stirred until melted.

Do this for 1 minute or two and stir every 20 seconds after that until melted. Chocolate melts can burn easily when overheated, so take the bowl out and stir every 20 seconds and check for melted chocolate in between stirs.

Once the chocolate is melted and smooth, drizzle it over the popcorn in two different spots in a swirl pattern. This will allow people to see that there's peanut butter in this type of popcorn.

Let the popcorn cool and harden. Chocolate can be a soft substance, so make sure the chocolate has hardened before consuming it. Chocolate should be served cold for the best taste. Chocolate melts can be found in grocery stores or online at places like Amazon.

There you have it! Chocolate drizzled over popcorn is delicious and easy to make. It's also healthier than other forms of chocolate-covered popcorn out there, like Chocolate Covered Chocolate Chip Popcorn.

Chocolate melts are used because they are cheap, but other types of chocolate would work as well. Either way, this style of popcorn has great texture, and everyone will enjoy it.

How Many Calories Are There In Movie Theater Popcorn?

November 16, 2021 by Cale Flint Leave a Comment

Movie theater popcorn is a snack that can be costly and leave you wanting more. So how many calories are in Movie Theater popcorn really?

Popcorn is one of the most common snacks sold at movie theaters, and with prices for it ranging from $5 to $8.

Popcorn is also often brought into the theater by people who sneak in their own homemade treats; if it's such a popular food, how many calories are there in Popcorn?

I have seen various lists on the internet of the calorie content of Popcorn. These vary from approximately 80-350 Calories per cup.  More often than not, these calorie counts include both the popcorn itself and its toppings.

The Popcorn sold at theaters has added sugar or salt coating the Popcorn, which will increase the calories.

Also, these lists do not usually split up their calorie counts into two separate lists, one for popcorn only and one for popcorn with butter.

The popcorn itself can have approximately 50-150 calories per cup.  However, if popcorn is covered in any kind of topping, these calories count for the popcorn and the additional toppings.

This means that the popcorn itself will have more like 50-125 calories per cup, while popcorn with butter would have approximately 125-300 Calories.

It's important not to get popcorn constantly if you are trying to lose weight or eat healthily; popcorn with butter has more than 300 calories per cup.

If popcorn is one of your favorite snacks though, you can still enjoy it without going overboard. Popcorn with no extra toppings is actually a healthy snack, and only contains about 50-125 calories!

Be sure to watch out for popcorn that has excess sugar or salt if you decide to bring popcorn into the theater with you.

Popcorn is a popular snack, but one that people should avoid if they want to be healthy. Popcorn tastes great; however, is not as good for our health as previously thought.

Total Calories in Movie Theater Popcorn

Popcorn can have around 50-150 calories with no toppings. Movie Theater Popcorn with butter/margarine or salt, etc. can have anywhere from 125 to 300 Calories per regular size serving!

Popcorn is not as bad as previously thought though! While there are many healthier snacks, popcorn is one of the most popular options while watching a movie.

Popcorn with no extra toppings is a healthy alternative that has approximately 50-125 Calories. Popcorn is a great snack to share at the theater making the total calories less than the total!

It's not something you have often though since popcorn is fairly expensive at movie theaters and it's best to avoid movie theater popcorn if you are trying to be healthy.

Pumpkin Spice Popcorn

November 10, 2021 by Cale Flint Leave a Comment

Tis the season for pumpkin spice! Fall is a great time to gather together with your families, friends get together, and everyone eats copious amounts of food.

Pumpkin Spice Popcorn is a great way to enjoy your favorite movie or TV show with some delicious snacks.

History of Pumpkin Spice

You probably know that "pumpkin spice" flavor doesn't actually come from pumpkins, but you might be surprised to learn what does provide this unique taste of fall.

It's called "pumpkin spice flavoring," and it's made using the following ingredients: vanilla (to impart the creamy flavor that people tend to associate with pumpkin), cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, clove, and cardamom.

Yes, that is right, pumpkin spice isn't made from real pumpkin. The combination of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and allspice is commonly used to flavor pumpkin dishes because it was initially designed to taste like pumpkin. (Cloves and mace are sometimes included as well.)

These various spices—some coming from all over the world—unbelievably combined to mimic the flavor of pumpkin.

And if you're wondering why Americans are so obsessed with this stuff in the first place, it might have something to do with the pumpkin pie spice blend made popular by Libby's, the brand that makes more than 75% of the world's canned pumpkin.

Now you combine America's love for Pumpkin Spice and its love for popcorn and you have something delicious.

FAQ

  • Can store up to 10 days in an airtight container at room temperature.
  • Want to make this recipe your own? Try adding vanilla extract, chocolate chips, or even nuts for a new twist!
  • Have leftovers? Use them as Christmas gifts! Or if you're anything like me just eat it all yourself!

How to make Pumpkin Spice Popcorn more healthy?

You can replace coconut oil with olive oil. This will lower the saturated fat level to 1%. Also, you can use air-popped popcorn kernels instead of microwave one. Additionally, try adding nuts (almonds) which will add protein and good fats to your snack.

You don't need to wait for fall season to enjoy pumpkin spice.

This yummy treat is perfect year-round and can be shared with your family or enjoyed as a snack when you have the munchies. And, it's not just good on its own!

Try mixing in some white chocolate chips or adding cinnamon sugar - two of my favorite additions so far. What is your favorite type of popcorn?

Dill Pickle Popcorn

November 9, 2021 by Cale Flint Leave a Comment

Dill pickle popcorn is super easy to make, on top of being tangy and delicious.

You'll need dill weed, ground coriander, citric acid, dry mustard, salt, garlic cloves crushed or minced, and dill seed. You'll need a large pot with a lid, cooking oil or shortening (or a combination of both), and popcorn kernels (¼ cup per 3 quarts of popped corn).

About Pickles

When we think of pickles, cucumbers commonly come to mind. Pickled cucumbers are often Lacto-fermented in saltwater brine.

During this process, lactic microbial organisms develop, which turn the naturally occurring sugars of foods into lactic acid. In turn, the environment becomes acidic quickly, making it impossible for any spoiling bacteria to multiply.

Cucumber pickles can also be made with salt and vinegar brine, a popular choice for home cooks.

A Short History of Pickles

The word pickle comes from the Dutch word for salt, "pekel," and the German word for salt, "pókel."

Pickling was a way to preserve food in the olden days. Pickles have been a regular part of the human diet for hundreds of years, going back to when they were first served as a pickle relish on bread.

Pickles filled the stomachs of hungry sailors and travelers while also providing families with a food source during the winter months.

FAQ

How to store Dill Pickle Popcorn

1. Store Out of Direct Sunlight

Popcorn needs to be in a dry, dark place to stay fresh. If it's exposed to sunlight or heat sources for long periods, it will go stale quickly and not taste as good when you eat it again.

2. Keep Popcorn In An Airtight Container

To keep your popcorn from going stale, airtight containers are ideal. This can be a plastic food storage container with a lid or simply an empty plastic bag that has had all the air sucked out of it. You can also use airtight glass jars or clear Tupperware-style containers.

3. Use Aluminum Foil To Wrap The Container When Not In Use

To ensure that smells and moisture don't get in your popcorn container and cause it to go stale, wrap it with aluminum foil before placing the lid on top. This also keeps smells from getting into the next batch of fresh-popped kernels you store.

4. Keep Popcorn In The Freezer If You're Not Going To Use It All Right Away

If you're not going to eat all your fresh-popped popcorn right away, consider putting it into the freezer instead of the refrigerator. This will keep your kernels soft and tasty for even longer.

5. Try And Use All Your Popcorn While It Is Still Fresh

The fresher it is, the better the taste!

Is Dill Pickle Popcorn Healthy?

Popcorn can either be good or bad for a person’s health, depending on what goes into making it.

On its own, without any added sugar or salt, popcorn makes a nutritious and healthy snack.

The problem comes when people add butter to the popcorn and drench it in sugary syrup.

Butter is high in saturated fat, which causes cholesterol levels to rise and increases the risk of heart disease. Sugar adds empty calories that are not necessary for anyone's diet.

However, with dill weed, one can make popcorn into an excellent low-calorie treat that still tastes great!

Halloween Popcorn Mix

October 25, 2021 by Cale Flint Leave a Comment

Halloween is coming around and this Halloween Popcorn Mix is perfect for holiday parties.

I don't know about you guys but I love popcorn mixes! It's always easy to make but super delicious. This mix catches the Halloween vibe really well.

I used the Halloween classics of candy corn and m&m's for this mix but you can spice it up yourself with your favorite candy.

When making the popcorn, I used an air popper with kernels to make my popcorn fresh. You can also use microwaveable bags or cook your popcorn in a skillet.

Halloween Popcorn Mix FAQ

Can you add other candy to this?

This recipe highly encourages you to use the candy that you like the most.

The candy used is popular Halloween candy, and some people may not like those candies. Feel free to exclude candy that you don't like and make it your own!

Some other candies that I recommend are butterfingers, Twix, and snickers. Chocolate is the perfect treat with savory popcorn.

How do I store this?

Since this Halloween popcorn mix goes stale very quickly, I would advise you to seal it in an airtight sealable bag.

I left it out on the table for just one night and I woke up to my popcorn being stale!
